Try these first
Some ice maker problems have a simple fix. Before you book, check:
- Make sure the ice maker’s on/off arm or switch is set to ON.
- Replace the water filter if it's more than 6 months old.
- Check that the water valve behind the fridge is fully open and the line isn't kinked.
- Break up clumped ice in the bin and empty it.

Why does my Samsung or LG ice maker keep freezing up?
Ice buildup in the door-mounted ice compartment is a well-known issue on many French-door models from both brands. Melting it out usually doesn't last, so we fix the underlying seal, fan or heater problem to keep it from coming back.
How long does an ice maker take to make ice after a repair?
Usually about 24 hours for a full bin. Toss the first few batches.
